hey!
just quickly before i ask, i just want you to know that i completely understand if you refuse and i promise it wouldn't make me think any less of you, Rocky... i'll still be your #1 fan
i mentioned to you previously that i was into making short films (they're not nearly as great as yours, but i try my best... lol) and anyway, i'd be incredibly honored if you would watch even just one of them (there's about 6 of them and they're all between 5-15 minutes in length, so not too time-consuming)
like i said, please don't feel pressured or obligated to do so, but i thought i'd ask you just to see if you would
they're unforunately not available through youtube because i prefer to keep them a bit more private than that (simply for the sake of names and locations)... so you'd need to check them out on Facebook in the group called "Stevo Hitchcock Productions"
anyway, as i said, i completely understand if you refuse, but i'd love it if you would!
thanks so much man. your pal, Steve

dude, i watched a few - some of them were pretty good - better than what i could do thats for sure....my fave would have to be 'Debt' tho. Youre a much better actor than you give yrself credit for - it was fun. I can see that your films are a family affair - theyre good sports to wanna be in your films. I can see that most of your films are 'dark' in nature - always a good place to start. I cant wait for the new one to come out dude...you got talent dude...congrats on the movies.....theyre fun..... I hope Rocky does give them a look....im sure he will enjoy em too......from one actor to another Im sure he would have some interesting feedback

Just finished Debt and The Apparition, and The Hit
Debts was interesting and well put together, at the start I was a bit confused but then I kinda figured it out. Good to see the whole family jumping in for ya; I could never get my family to do that. lol
The Apparition is my fav so far; the dialogue fitted well within this type of short movie and you came across quiet believable. I was also glad you did not add in screaming and the terrible shacking on the camera like others do.
The Hit, good but it has been to long since I have seen Full-Tilt Boogie that I cannot remember the comparative aspect. Will have to re-watch it soon.
Keep up the good work, I must add also that your editing is top notch; the smooth transfers are impressive.

glad to hear you liked The Apparition. you're actually the first person who's complimented it so far... everyone else trashed that one. i don't mind if people don't like my stuff, but i'd like at least one person to like each of my films, just so it's not like i wasted my time making it, you know? even just one fan will justify it for me.
yeah, Debt and Saw XVII seem to be the big ones for fans. i've gotten a lot of negative feedback about The Massacre (which, unfortunately, took the most effort and time to create... go figure.)
it's strange... everyone loves The Hit and i don't understand why. i mean, i'm glad and all. but it's kinda just left-over scraps that i turned into a 2-minute joke. (my cousin and i were going to make an actual short film about two contract-killers, but ran out of time, so we just threw The Hit together instead cuz we didn't want to waste the footage we were able to shoot.)
don't get me wrong, i'm glad you guys like it... i'm just surprised lol
anyway, make sure you guys check out my new movie, "WANTON", which is gonna premiere on Facebook around 10pm EST on July 16th!! i'm really stoked for that one!!

Wanton? the lost sequel to Wanted? Yea, your movies r fun! I know the hard work that must go into em, and the PATIENCE. Trust me, i used to make my own movies at home when i was like your age - and it was just a cast of me, and my brother. So i was actor/director/writer/prop guy etc...and even tho they werent the best movies ever, or the most original. Looking back at em, they were fun, and i have such fond memories of them. They still crack me up! So yea dude.....u should enjoy making movies...dont try to please an audience, coz u cant please everybody. Everybody is a critic. You should make what makes u happy, coz it is your passion that will bring out your best work. I cant wait for the premier *rolls out the red carpet*

yeah, you're exactly right man. you should always just do what you want. an audience can tell if the makers of a film were passionate about it or not, so if you do something you don't enjoy, it will show as much. if you do something you love, even if you're not the greatest actor/director/etc. in the world, it'll come across as fun. that's a big reason i liked Mortuary. not that it wasn't a good film, it just wasn't anything spectacular... but i love watching it cuz everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.

I use to hate criticism until I learned to use it. It made me look at my work and better it every time, and now I am better for it.
The only thing I don't like about it is the blanket "Its crap", Ok, yes but why, back up that statement.
As shallow said, your movies are fun, it's not like you have 100K to make a film with (Thats what it cost to do Shallow Ground BTW) You had yourself, family and friends and you did the best you could, and thats all that can be said.

thats what I love about 'All the Boys love Mandy Lane' - it supposedly cost 500k which is cheap considering the names and studio behind the movie, but it was shot soooo WELL and soo beautifully, i couldve sworn it had a much bigger budget. (BTW this movie was AMAZING)
nightflyer - i forgot what you do? are u in the movie biz? coz u said criticism makes u work harder...just wondering what u did that warranted 'criticism'?
*waiting for Wanton rockyfan17*!!!!

nightflyer - i forgot what you do? are u in the movie biz? coz u said criticism makes u work harder...just wondering what u did that warranted 'criticism'? I like to Write, mostly just for fun though. I did write two teleplays for Star Trek and sent them in; but they did not use em. I have written two movie screenplays which were very early in my writing endeavor. The first was pretty shite, the second was a good premise but need a lot of work so I'm now trying to turn it into a novel. Other than that have a lot of short stories and three potential novels on the go.

wow cool - i 'began' writing a story/screenplay AGES ago - but it was TOO similar to Scream/I know what you did last summer, and all the other teen slashers out there - i dont hav an original bone in my body. But I would LOVE to write an amazing original story....(and of course win an Oscar like Diablo Cody!)... but with work, and life in general, i just dont hav the time and patience to write.....but good luck with yr writing! And I did manage to watch Wanton. Dude, i think ive written like 3 reviews in the last half hour bout yr movie, so I aint gonna repeat yrself. But let me just say this...it is the best movie out of your collection so far. You really have improved from the others - and like i said, i knew u would. You will keep getting better n better, as u develop your own personal film making style. Congrats on the new movie dude.... good work!!!

that's awesome that you guys are so into writing... i love writing as well and i've already written three short-stories and a bunch of articles for the paper (no novels or teleplays like you talented guys, but still worth noting) i'm more of a filmmaker though... i just can't seem to keep myself interested long enough to write a whole novel (i've tried writing longer things in the past and always gave up on them), but i've always really wanted to write one before i die lol it's one of my goals, for sure

umm im into writing yea...but no novels or screenplays here dude - i said i 'wanted' too - but never got round to doing it. I do hav some poetry tho - which i am totally not into, but somehow was inspired to do - and suprisingly it came out quite well (well to me it did!)...kinda dark stuff, written during a really depressing time! Dude, that 'shoutout' to Rocky in the beginning of your movie WOW...Rocky TOTALLY has to see yr movie pronto. Im sure he would be totally stoked to know a movie is dedicated to him. I bet nothing as huge as this has happened to him before. He HAS to watch it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
