well, we still get Andy Dicks sitcom "Less than perfect" on tv here...its quite a funny show to be honest..i love work place sitcoms...!!!
but yea, i have heard that he can be quite the 'difficult' person to work with....i dunno...he even comes accross as being difficult, in all the shows ive seen him in! And to think he has a teenage son...! I always thought he was into guys!
I wonder if rocky and michael found him easy to work with on the movie...?
Say Larry, having seen the movie..does Andy hav a large role? I mean, hes really a comedy actor, so i dont see what he could be doing in a somewhat serious movie like Bondage (or whatever its gonna be called hehe)...wouldnt that be a distraction..
and hey, hes in the new Jessica Simpson video with Christina Applegate, Christina Milian and Eva Longoria...and Andy Dick is basically playing that Andy Dick character he plays ALL the time!

The first thing he did when he arrived on the Bondage set was to ask, "are there any underage boys here?" That's his thing, most definitely. In his film he is obsessed with asses, body hair, hairy asses, blood, bloody asses...well, you get the idea. It's not so much that he is "difficult" as much that he is an addict. Whether it's pills or booze or other substances, his behavior on and off set is essentially determined by his degree of sobriety which, ironically, is exactly what his own film is about. Bondage does have a few light moments, although I certainly wouldn't call it a "comedic drama" or "dramatic comedy." It's just life, and life has its funny moments regardless of the overall subject matter, of course. He is only in one scene. It's very funny and gets some of the biggest laughs in the film. Griffin Dunne, as the psychiatrist, is quite humorous as well. Even Michael gets a few laughs with some of his actions.

i truly pity andy dicks son....! I mean he in high school now, i think and he must get a lot of crap for what his dad does!
i used to be into andy dick at one point (dont ask heheh!)...but im sorta tiring of him. He needs to show that he can do more than his usual 'Andy Dick" schtick.
he doesnt sound like such a professional, but he still gets work...! i dont know how he does that.
he, carrot top and Pauly Shore all remind me of each other....Pauly shore is like one of those comedians who looks like he has such a dark side to him!!!!!
so any news on when Bondage is coming out?? and please say it gets a theatrical release...! do u think michaeal has any chance come awards season?

Whatever I may have thought of Andy Dick before, I will never see him the same way after hearing what he did on the set of Bondage. There should be news of a distribution deal any moment now. It WILL be getting a theatrical release, there's no doubt about that. I think Michael does have a chance come awards season but it will most likely be for "Man in the Chair," if anything. It's a much more high profile film and there has already been a review at Monsters & Critics saying he deserves an Oscar for it.

Oh, don't get me wrong, if not for Man in the Chair I'd be saying the same thing. But that's the one which will have a more high profile release, so it sort of pushes the other out of the way. Definitely look it up. There is a nice compilation of information HERE. It's a pretty amazing story. BTW I heard that Man in the Chair has been accepted into the Toronto Film Festival, but it hasn't been officially announced and I can't confirm it. That comes from the son of one of the investors. If so, Michael will probably be there.

interesting link dude..
ok, so maybe it may get recognised come awards season, but normally, they dont rewards young actors..its always the veterans that get the recognition, so it may be christopher plummmers year...
actresses, on the other hand...they usually hand it to the younger ones....even nominations come easier for them, like angelina jolie, kiera knightly, natalie portman, reese witherspoon...
guys on the other hand, for younger actors, it much harder....if Hayden christensen couldnt even get a nomination for Life as a house, then.....that just proves my point!

Yes, that tends to be true, for various socio-political reasons. But at least a nomination would be nice, although Michael really needs to do more edgier stuff (like Machine) AND commercially successful stuff before he'll be taken "seriously" by the Academy. Casting directors, producers, and directors already take him seriously but not the people who really decide on these awards. The Academy awards what sells but only if it's also "edgy." They don't award what is edgy and does not sell. And they don't award what sells but is not edgy. It has to be both. Of course, awards really don't mean a lot but they are nice to have, nonetheless. ;D

i live for awards season, i make it a point to watch ALL the nominated movies and all the movies shortlisted for contention...its like my mission come January and February...sometimes, there is a whole load of crap, but sometimes there are a lot of really good movies that ordinarily i wouldnt watch...
like last year for example, the big gay movie was of course, Broke back...i watched it, enjoyed it blah blah blah, but it Felicty Hufman wasnt recognised for her work in Transamerica, i would never have thought of ever watchin that movie, but im glad i did! Its such an amazing movie....touched me so much, and it was so much fun to watch, and i thought it would be such a downer given the subject material. And dont get me started on Kevin Zegers *drool*
anyways, yea, awards season are fun - but Micheal is like what 18? I dont think he is due yet, or even gonna be considered unfortunately coz of his age...if he was a chick tho, that would be a different story...what is with the academy and NOT recognising the younger actor!

Yes, the one good thing about awards season is that many of the "smaller" films which would have possibly gone by quietly are noticed. Those also tend to be the films you see at festivals, so you are, in a way, getting to experience what I do when I attend these festivals. I wrote a long article on "Brokeback vs Transamerica" awhile back. I went to a private screening of Transamerica, about a month before it opened, in a small screening room in New York City that held about 60 people. They were all industry types. About 5 days later I attended the New York premiere of Brokeback. There was just no comparison. I had such high expectations for Brokeback, and was terribly disappointed. I generally believe now that living in the urban Northeast US has raised the bar for what I find controversial. With access to many small arthouse films and indies, which often push the envelope with these themes, Brokeback was incredibly tame. We weren't the least bit shocked nor we we all that impressed with the acting. But the scenery and music were gorgeous and it wasn't a bad way to spend two hours. Transamerica, on the other hand, was a pleasant surprise. Despite all I knew about the film (I had a personal connection to it which went back a couple of years) I still was not prepared. I knew there was comedy in it, but I had no idea it would be such a laughfest. I was expcting a comedic drama -- mostly heavy with some light moments. But there was really very little drama here at all. It was a classic road comedy, pure and simple. Michael is 18. But hey, he'll be 19 in 4 months! And in 5 months it will be 2007, and in 2007 he will be 20 and he won't be a teenager any more! So there!
