Hey everyone, I'm normally not really much of an activist for anything, but I wanted to let you all know to PLEASE check out www.itgetsbetterproject.com and sign up to Pledge your support (put your name down, not necessarily donate money or anything). This cause is to help LGBT youth who are being bullied because of who they are, or who they are perceived to be, and to let them know that things do get better. After the recent string of gay suicides in America, this cause has received more attention, and a large number of celebrities, such as Adam Lambert, Chris Colfer, Ke$ha, Rob Thomas, and AJ McLean, have lent their support. Even Hillary Clinton and President Obama have joined in! Yesterday, I submitted my own video, which can be seen here: Please lend your support to this cause, even if it's just promoting it on Facebook or something! You don't have to be gay, or openly gay, to support it. You could simply say you're straight but supporting these teens. Please help out, as it is really important! Leigh

Bravo Leigh for speaking out. I was very upset about the rash of suicides that have occured here recently. I have young gays who come to me asking for advice for things they have to go through at school and the community. It is time for ppl to stand up and speak out against bullying and abuse. Keep up the good work my friend and i will do all i can to help support in this effort.

This campaign is getting a lot of support. Katy Perry recently dedicated her new single, Firework, to the cause.
PLEASE do everything you can to get people to put their names down in support, and help make them aware of this cause. It's important for ALL teenagers, not just GBLT teens, to feel safe at school and in their lives in general. They need to know that things do get better, and suicide is NEVER the answer!
