Boy, this topic has garnered a lot more discussion that I dreamed posible. And as far as I now, Rocky hasn't even read it yet!
Coupl'a things we need to clarify. The character of Mac, which I always envisioned as being Rocky, is indeed the hero's best friend, but he is NOT a superhero himself. There is nothing wrong with the idea of Rocky in tights (or just about anything clingy that isn't guts and gore) but I'm afraid he's stuck in street clothes for the comic book. Sorry. Also, although the hero is gay, Mac is straight. So no male-to-male nookie in the story, either. At least not this story.
As to the superhero/title character Icarus, I always thought of Andrew Keegan. Yes, yes, I too love and adore Wentworth Miller, ever since his Buffy days as a waterpolo player who transforms into a giant fish. Heck, I even watched Dinotopia just to see Went, and I otherwise had NO interest in that show!
But if you rent the movie Broken Hearts Club and see Andrew Keegan's portrayal of pivotal character Kevin, you'll see what I have in mind for my gay champion.
That's it for now! Say...how do I post image files from the comic here when I have them to show? Any easy method to suggest?
Best to all, and especially to Rocky, -Briz

snow...awww how cool! well as for me, i live smack bang in the middle of the tropics so no snow for me...just annoying heat and sweat, ick! and brizy...ummmm no offence to you...i know u envisioned Andrew keegan...but i wish it was someone else....could you consider say, Anton Yelchin or Logan lerman if your looking for a younger dude... i dont know why, but Andrew keegan always came across as "not my type"....i cant puit my finger on it. Something bout him says "skeezy' to me...but i mean no offence to you dude, im sorry. huh? wentworth was a polo player on Buff (DOWNLOADS NOW!)...umm may I ask, does he wear speedos? ooooh and Viv, we sorta dont talk or speculate bout Rocky's sexuality in here outta respect to him. We can fantasize, but we never ask....i dont think he wants to talk bout it in the room, so we respect that!

To be honest, Shallowboy, one of the things I will no doubt be flexible about, should the comic book ever get picked up as a movie (should I ever finish drawing it, even!!) is the lead role. Really.
I had a short list that included Jason Behr and Milo Ventimiglia (who played a closeted gay wrestler in the fun werewolf movie "Cursed"), but I will no doubt be most open to who will be the title superhero.
I will NOT yield on who is to be cast as best friend Mac. That stays Rocky Marquette or the deal's off.
Listen to us--debating casting over a movie for a comic book that isn't even finished yet! Are we geeky fanboys or what??

im glad that your flexible...i mean outta all the names youve thrown at us...Milo seems the most (personally to me) best choice...though can i add in other names like Hayden Christensen, Gaspard Ulliel....heck even Wentworth *mmm dream choices* dude, if u ever wanna cast an asian role in that movie.....cast me, case me, im available hehehe me a geeky fan boy? I dont think so *whistles innocently* i just find it ironic that me, an insignificant dude from a random little country in asia (with a population of not even half a million) has a 'say' (supposedly) in a casting of a hollywood movie (fingers crossed)....this is so surreal.... so do i get a cut of the profits? hehehe

we should all get a role in that movie. with horrible accents from each one of us... i mean we could exaggerate that. yet we got an asian and a german accent, that would be funny...i´m thinkin of some sort of sin city style i´m just a dreamer...

Okay, deep breaths now, everybody. I have to finish the comic book first! Seriously, I would like to post some pages from the comic book here for everyone to enjoy--and of course, I'd have to pick pages featuring the character Mac so we could all see Rocky's comic book incarnation. Need to finish my other deadlines first, though... And as for film accents, well--even though the story is based in a fictitious city (a la Metropolis or Gotham City), I always envisioned it as being something like Detroit. Which means all you guys would have to learn how to do a Michigan accent! Luckily, Rocky doesn't need any coaching on that--he's FROM here! (By the way--watched my DVD of "Mortuary" over Thanksgiving and while I enjoyed it, I still wanted our man Rocky to have more screen time. Alas, alas.)

you finally saw Mortuary... wasnt he the sweetest gay boy like EVER and i love his voice...it was the first time i saw him in a speaking role, and his voice melts me....man, if ever u could fall in love with a voice, that was it well...dude, if u can employ me a voice coach (maybe Rocky as a personal tutor hehe!)...id still love to be part of the movie.....maybe some evil Asian assasin character u can write in for me...tho i speak good english,...just not PURE american....semi american but i wouldnt know from which area of the US. Its a mix of everything i picked off tv heheh good luck with finishing the comic book..no pressure..BUT HURRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehehe

Actually, I'd seen Mortuary before, but only on Sci Fi Channel. This was my first time seeing it on my own DVD, unedited and without commercials.
And able to rewind and rewatch Rocky's bits whenever I wanted.
