I did not see the original version of this film. The remake version is GORY! There is no doubt about that. RATING: Cheap Theaters - Tribute to Stephen Spielberg's SCHINDLER'S LIST with the girl with the red coat or a tribute to Little Red Riding Hood?
- The deformed "monsters" look similar to various other horror flicks, for example, WRONG TURN.
- FACT: Agnes Moorehead, Endora from BEWITCHED was one of the cast members of the ill fated film The Conqueror (1956), which was filmed in 1954 in the Nevada desert close by to where the government was doing nuclear testing. In later years those tests were suspected to have caused the cancer deaths of several of the films stars including John Wayne, Dick Powell, Susan Hayward and Pedro Armendáriz.
- I WONDER: It makes me wonder about Roswell New Mexico's aliens. What if....they were not nuclear testing, but preparing for an alien invasion. hmmmmm
- Dan Byrd remind me of Michael Angarano.
- Aaron Stanford looks so different with the way he had his beard. He looks like someone that I know or recognize. I know he is in X-Men! I am talking about the beard, etc. I am trying to think of the actor's name.
- Kathleen Quinlan's character was so like my mom in every way. I had to cover my eyes at certain parts of the film because it was too freaky.

Ok, speaking if Horror movies...and i didnt wanna open up a new thread, but i just saw the most amazing horror movie of 2006 so far. HOSTEL!!!! Now this is how a horror movie should be done - first thing, no PG13 bullshit. Bring on the NC17 horror movies, with no holds barred blood guts and killings!!!
Ok, if i were straight - this would be the perfect testosterone-guy movie - all the tits and female nudity you can handle (and more!)...but regardles...it was still f**king amazing. Good story, good plot, good horror...and cute dudes! Some shots of them shirtless, ass and in boxers, but mostly its all about the female body..but dont let that put you off. Its a horror movie, pure and simple!
Jay Hernandez reminds me so much of one dude in my office (he always did have that resemblance, even before i saw Hostel!)
And dude...i NEVER wanna travel to eastern europe now, EVER!!!! This movie is gonna put you off going to that part of the world forever without a doubt! never backpack, never tour europe, never go on sex tours, NEVER NEVER NEVER!
Ok, on the negative - after all the press, and hype, on how this was meant to be SO gory and SO no-holds barred- i found that the gore was watchable ....so it wasnt as gory as people made it out to be, or am i just de-sensitised to all the gore!!
But nevertheless...an awesome movie...and love how the story flowed...etc, etc= a fun 2 hours of horror!
A truly SATISFYING movie. Usually, i dont use that word to describe movies, but watch it and you really feel SATISFIED! I dont know why, but you just do.....
