After 12 years absence James Cameron has come back with a film that was worth the wait. With the best visual effects I've ever seen (Yes it will revolutionize the industry), brilliant acting, lots a action and even though the story was nothing extremely new it was executed superbly with James Cameron's brilliant dialogue and story telling. The only gripe I had was extremely minor, and that was at the start they use A Voice Over and it reminded me of a Directors Commentary. It was only when a Video Diary came on screen I understood why it was being used within the film. OH, and the other grip - needing to go to the toilet TWO BLOODY times as I was served three bourbons throughout the film. Dooh. Go and see it guys and girls.

out of ALL the reviews Ive seen....(both professional reviews and reviews from friends)...they all seem positive..so I must be the ONLY one who didnt like it. I was thoroughly dissapointed. The story itself was decent and had potential but I have a lot of gripes with the 3D. Ok, this is the first movied ive seen in 3D (apart from the mini #D movies u get in theme parks), so i cant tell how far the technology has advanced and how much Cameron has done to improve on 3d technology. But to be honest, i didnt find it that impressive. I actually found the 3D show in disneyland more *real*....I went in hoping for so much, but i was so dissapointed. It just looked cartoony to me, and i HATE when too much CGI makes a movie look like an animation (Im looking at you StarWars Eps 1-3 !!!).
AND to make it worse, i got motion sickness thru'out the entire movie..Im not sure if it was the 3D doing it or the fact that i went to watch it in IMAX. But i felt sick the entire time. Not fun. The entire cinema was full too, and i cant imagine the people in the first few rows watching an imax screen AND on 3D...mustve been so dizzying down there (I got a real good seat...paid big bucks for the best seat in the house coz i 'thought' this movie was gonna be epic and worth it, but i was sorely dissapointed.
Seriously, i dont get all the good reviews and people cumming over the movie, I cant think of ONE single part that i liked and enjoyed. It was like watching a 3 hour cartoon, and i Hate cartoons!!
i mean, cameron has made CLASSICS...titanic, aliens, terminator 1 and 2, true lies...i mean, these are some of the best movies of all time!!! So i had super high hopes and expectations....i wouldnt even list this in the top 20 for 2009....im sorry for all the Avatar fans out there...but im not a fan!
ok...rant over..
