Director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) is set to helm the remake titled simple 'The Me In' and it's set to be filmed in the fall and at present according to imdb still has a Jan 2010 release date, which I think is pushing it. The three starring roles have been announced as Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road), Chloe Moretz (500 Days of Summer) and OscarĀ®-nominee Richard Jenkins. The Swedish Contemporary Vampire film that tells the tales of a young lonely and bullied boy who befriends a new girl who has just moved into the same apartment block. I have seen and really enjoyed the original and I hope that this new version does not change too much of the story, but time will tell. www.overturefilms.net/ O.S.

another one of those "its too soon to be remade" movies.....tho, having said that, u know ill be watching this, coz i watch ALL of the remakes - good bad or ugly.
To be honest, i know EVERYONE loved the original...the critics were wetting themselves over it...i dont know. I found it kinda slow and stuff....its was ok....but i dont see how it became such a critical darling....At the risk of getting laughed off the board...i did find Twilight did it better (there goes all my creditibility out the window!!!)....
ANd isnt that McPhee kid considerably older than the original Eli or whatever his name is....

I have a copy of "Let The Right One In" and i rather enjoyed it. Really hate the way the boy was bullied all the time.

i dont get why Sweden didnt submit Let the Right on in....the other film they submitted for the Oscar consideration, did get in tho, so i guess they didnt technically 'lose'. They still got their nomination tho....and thats the most important thing. I doubt the 'other' film was as universally loved or as popular as "Let the right on in' tho. I mean, are they remaking the 'other' movie yet?
