do u know about what happened there? Like, before the movie, I mean? Mattie.....omg, u suddenly have gone up in the cool charts!!! You are kidding us right? You live 5 mins away from the house? OMG OMG you must hear a lot of stuff about what REALLY went on back then.....any news on the family that used to live there? who is living in the house now? have u ever been into the house (for a dare, or for halloween?) mattie, u have to dish...omg, u are SOO cool right now, just for living around that house. And yes, that movie was amazing.....top of my list for 2009 so far! LOVED IT!!!!! Jmosthaunted totally wants to be your best friend right now, im sure hehehe! Well, for starters it was nothing like the movie, I'll tell you that much.. lol And yes, I REALLY do live 5 minutes away from the house. If I go by it anytime soon I'll take a snap shot for you all to mush over. Anyway, the people living in the house now claim there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. And to be honest, I think the family were just trying to make an extra buck to take care of their very sick son. And considering the house is across the street from a cemetery, why not conjure up some ghost story! But really, no one will really know if the supposed story is true. Here's the supposed story behind it (that Hollywood dramatized to the 2323243423th power) : www.thecabinet.com/darkdestinations/location.php?sub_id=dark_destinations&letter=h&location_id=the_haunting_in_connecticut_houseIf you don't believe I live in the same town, look at my myspace link. My myspace says I live in Southington... same town the house is in. I personally don't believe anything happened.. in a supernatural sense.. But whatever.

mattie - seriously, u are the epitome of cool right now!! Pictures of the house would be amazing (and somewhat spooky)....
*spoiler* I really do wanna beleive the story (in the movie) tho, coz i felt sooo bad for that kid.....tho how beleiveable is the "haunted house cured my cancer" story. *end spoiler*
It is still REALLY ironic, that outta ALL the millions of potential posters on the internet, we meet the one dude who lives NEXT DOOR to the haunted house...or supposed hauted house.
Oh mattie, tell us more, tell us more - what happened to the real kid who was there?? Have u ever been in that house??? omg - this is just so cool!

I don't really know what happened to him. I never really studied the people's history and such.. Never really cared considering I never actually believed the house was haunted.
Even so, the story and the outcome is a mystery to everyone here in Southington as well. The neighbors of the people supposedly said that they never heard or seen anything weird going on in that house or with the family.
So who knows what's real and what's not. Personally I think the family was just trying to earn some cash to help pay for their son's treatments.

so was the actual movie filmed round yr neigborhood? mustve been cool recognising parts of your town in an actual hollywood movie...
Ive got the "haunting in connecticut' documentary which they say is WAY more scarier than the movie, which I cant wait to see.... i really intrigued by the whole story...tho all this talk of the story being 'fake' is pretty sad.....i sorta want it to be true, given the whole 'happy ending' of the movie...
and is the real dude as HOT as Kyle Gallner?? these questions need to be answered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't recognize a single thing in the movie. It wasn't even filmed in CT. And I think the movie says the house is somewhere upstate.. Which is stupid. Southington is like.. dead center of the state. Or at least almost center.

I hope yr right, coz im looking forward to watching it...the first one was actually quite good...... But if u ask me about the Halloween2 vs The final destination debate.....The Final Destination wins for me (tho I havent seen either)...i mean, dude, its in 3D....!! how can u beat that....not that we have any 3D screens in the whole country here We r decades behind u all

FD may be 3d.. But the movie is so horribly bad it's not even funny. And most hate for H2 comes from bitter John Carpenter fan boys who can't watch the movie with an open mind and see that this is NOT John Carpenter's Halloween.

yeah, I agree Matt. I REALLY wanna see H2 cos I loved the first one so much, and Rob Zombie did a GREAT job with it, especially with the background on Michael's childhood!
As for TFD, I REALLY don't wanna see it ... all the movies are pretty much the same, they get boring so quick. I saw the 3rd one a few months back ... not that great.

well, im a fan of BOTH of the movie series.... I like the Final Destination ones coz theyre fun...theyre not scary, not spooky, but are just fun....only the first one had a real sense of 'thrill' to it, but the others were just a fun-ride... The Halloween movies on the other hand are always spooky (especially the original ones)....even the remake by Zombie from 2 yrs back was good, i will admit! Loads better than the Friday 13th/My Bloody Valentine/Prom Nite etc remakes....u can always trust Rob Zombie to come up with a good, horror movie....at least he tries to avoid pg-13 horror which we should commend him for! I still say that Mattie and Leigh are the only 2 so far who have spoken positively bout Halloween2....and as horror fans, i will trust yr opinions and now im officially looking forward to H2

Jon, I haven't seen H2 yet.
As for Friday the 13th, that wasn't a remake, that was number 12 in the series, and they're already working on number 13
