did someone mention Lou!!!!!? Hey aquaryan, thanks for giving the movie a chance! mattie dude, ok, its bout this guy who grows up, kinda insecure and stuff, and he sucks his thumb as a way to distract himself from his life and stuff....well sorta, hes been doing it since a kid, and just never got over it. And his parents have been trying to get him to stop sucking his thumb, so he sees this orthodontist played by Keanu Reeves. Its a indie-drama - a very talkie one, which is something i love (I just got The Squid and the Whale, which i wanna see so much!) The soundtrack is awesome in this movie, and Lou Pucci is just so good in this movie. Much better than he was in Chumscrubber. I dont think you would enjoy it tho mattie. It doesnt have any guns, killing or spaceships - but if u would wanna give it a chance, who knows u might enjoy it. give it a rent some time! So aquaryan, did u enjoy it yourself?

Wait, wait, wait! Can this be any more perfect? I get my SciFi fix with Matt (Is it Matt? I'm not straight on all the names yet) and here comes Shallowboy with my Lou Taylor Pucci fix! I've had the biggest crush on Lou since I saw him in Empire Falls a year ago! Since then my friends and I have made an "indie movie circle" in which we rent unkown movies and just watch them randomly (That's how we came upon the beauty of Chumscrubber and Everything Is Illuminated with Elijah Wood).
Personally I loved Thumbsucker, though it made me slightly depressed afterwards. I guess it's the fact that poor Lou gets used by that girl (that I hate) and everything ends up in a downward spiral though there's a happy ending. He acted soooo well in that movie. The thing with Cumscrubber is that he plays a very unlikeable character (the snivelling little kid who acts tough with his friends but he's really a straight-A student with big plans for the future) so the whole movie I wanted to smack him in the face. But that proves his versatility as an actor which makes me love him even more!
Out of both of the movies, though there is no comparision, I think I enjoyed Chumscrubber more since it had its little funny moments (there's a character that has great eyesight and can name any kind of airplane in the sky) wrapped up in a thicker plot (teenage suicide). Thumbsucker was great too, just a little bit unrealistic for me. Oh and Tilda Swinton scares me.
There's my two cents.

And a very valuable two cents it is. Glad you are enjoying us Esther.. But remember... once you go Matt, you never go back.
