Top Horror Films Of 2008 My Name is Bruce (Didnt see this one - coz i HATE comedy horror with a passion) Diary Of The Dead (Saw this one - kinda forgettable....nothing too special, but decent) Resident Evil: Degeneration (Again, I hate Animation, but i saw bits of this....shoulda been live action. then i woulda watched it!) Horror was a little average last year. Top 10 Horror Movies I'm looking forward to in 2009 Friday The 13th (Yes, wanna see this!) Piranha 3D (This is Aja right!? that man is a genius!!) The Haunting of Molly Hartley (Saw this last week - PG13 horror crap- dude, seriously? yr lookin forward to this? Sure its not coz yr looking forward to Chace Crawford? ) The Broken (Suprisingly, I havent heard of this - Is this aussie?) Biggest Disappointment of 2008 Black X-Mas (I liked this!!!!!!!! tho technically a 2007 release!!!!! - fun, campy horror.....totally my kinda shit!) Hey Shallow To tell you the truth I have lost a lot of respect for the Horror Genre - and I only did a quick look at upcominghorror.com. They were the only quick ones that grabbed me. The last Horror film I truly loved was "Dead Silence" upcominghorrormovies.com/movies/thebroken.php

"Dead Silence"....REALLY?? wow, we totally hav SUCH different tastes in Horror movies!!! I mean, most of the ones u wanna see above are direct-do-dvd titles dude...so ummm.....what does that tell u....
anyways, may I recommend : Eden Lake DOnkey Punch [REC] Let the right one in!
All EURO horror, but the first 2 are in English...Now THESE are truly great horror....wish American horror could go back to being good! So ive now resolved to going to Euro movies for my horror fix!

Very diff. lol
Most of the horror stuff barley makes it to the cinema here bar EVERY BLOODY SAW film. So most of our stuff is Direct to DVD.

we only get BIG horror movies released in cinemas here like...Mirrors, Saw etc (tho HEAVILY censored for gore and violence) so best to watch em on DVD anyways. Suprising [REC] is showing in cinemas now here...which is quite random, but commendable of them!
and when i say "direct-to-dvd' dude, i mean 'direct-to-dvd' in the USA ie. not given a chance at a theatrical release in the states!
Basically i love all sorts of horror - ill watch em all, the good, the bad and the ugly EXCEPT for comedy-horror!!! Whoever thought up this genre should be shot! Horror and comedy dont mix EVER!

Indeed - I was looking at you original 2008 list and noticed that 2 films have only just made it to DVD in the last two months here in Australia. We are slow with movies sometimes.

yikes! Just 2?? Well at least you have the others to look forward to....IF they get an Aussie release. Maybe you should try to dload em or at least order em from the US or Europe. Most of them are European, so you should be able to find em easily....
Any suggestions for good recent horror movies? Im all out, and im bored without a good horror movie lately to keep me company

I don't like D/L'd Movies - I paid to much for my home set up to watch the files that are online. I always wait for B/R and DVD. I've been hanging to re-watch Star Trek and the amount of pirated DVD rips online atm are amazing, but I've already ordered my BR copy, so I'll be waiting.
As for Horrors,
Trick 'R Treat which I'll do a review on soon. Beyond Remedy - Which I have at home (will let you know) The Midnight Meat Train Splinter

Trick 'R Treat - Something im SEMI looking forward to - I mean its a horror movie, so im good with that, just that the trailer looked underwhelming - but ill watch it for sure. The fact, that its theatrical release kept on being pushed back and back and eventually becoming a direct-to-dvd movie does not give me much confidence.
Beyond Remedy - Never Heard of this...Is is Aussie?
Midnight Meat Train - Awesome movie, suprisingly VERY enjoyable....the first 95percent of this movie is amazing -but let down by a TOTALLY dissapointing, and movie-ruining ending!!! Urgghhhhh....Just like Jeepers Creepers, they ruined a totall good movie, with a shitty ending! (Tho, not technically a spoiler, since a lot of people dug the ending - i just thought it killed a perfect movie!)
Splinter - Cool fun gorey movie....liked it!!! Fun DVD! U will enjoy!
Speaking of new horror movies...MY man Wentworth Miller is cast in the new Resident Evil4 movie - My husband in a Zombie movie...*ahhhhhh*.....and the fact that the first Resident Evil movie is like one of my favorite movies of all time, makes me mega excited for this!

Beyond Remedy is a English speaking German film. As far as I can tell beside Germany it's only had a Australian release. I could not get into it and started doing the full-forward thing before giving up. Its about trying to get people over mortal fears which is set in a disused hospital which looks like a bomb went off in.
I re-watched Cursed the other day - and although not a big horror film it's still a fave of mine. I watch it at least once a year. lol
You were right about Prom night mikromilla, these M rated remakes are just pointless and boring.

Hi Milla Oooh lets discuss yr movies... Top Horror Movies: Eden Lake - Hardcore movieis right...LOVED it....gritty ending tho...made me mad! But I did love the whole atmosphere of the movie. And it really strengthens my hatred for Chavs! They are EVIL! The Grudge - I liked it, one of the better remakes...but i guess i was too busy comparing it to the original to really get into it. The Ring - Another well done movie. The scene where she climbs outta the tv is still classic. The original is much much more creepier tho! Shutter - I only caught the remake. Didnt think much of this one tho...just so so..nothing too scary Mirrors - this was a dissapointment to me, after Hills have Eyes, High Tension, i thought Aja could do no wrong, but i was sorely mistaken. CGI fire has never looked so bad Dead Silence - this was just another so-so movie for me...if u wanna see James Wan at his best, go watch the the criminally underrated 'Death sentence'. Biggest Disappointment: The Grudge 3 - I saw this, it was ok....nothing too special yr right. Poor kid got killed at the beginning tho Saw V - theyre getting lame'r and lame'r but im a sucker for them heheh The Midnight Meat Train - Hey, i thought this was good. The first 95% of the movie was AMAZING, tho the ending was sh*t! WTF is up with that ending, just ruined the movie on such a bad note! Prom Night - EVERYONE hated this, so why dont i? haha. Seriously, i enjoyed it....fun lil horror movie...i need to check out the original Ahhh i just love disucssing horror movies Im glad all my buddies here are horror movie fans!
